With the return of dine-in, it’s not just restaurants that have geared up to welcome foodies to their doors. Private home kitchens are also back in the game to embrace diners, many of whom have made reservations months in advance. If the idea of visiting a home chef’s abode to savour a scrumptious meal appeals to you, here are two picks you can consider for a private restaurant experience for up to five persons.

1. Lynnette’s Kitchen

Helming Lynnette’s Kitchen, Lynnette Seah is not just a popular private dining chef but an acclaimed violinist, Cultural Medallion winner and a retired Concertmaster from the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.

Lynnette serves up specialty Peranakan dishes and a selection of European and seafood dishes from the kitchen of her Tiong Bahru flat. Her recent social media feeds show photos of her tempting new dishes like Steamed Crabs with Rice Wine, and a flavourful Bakwan Kepiting soup with crabmeat, prawns and fish, among other delectable creations.

2. Private Chef’s Table by Dine Inn – 百家味

Private Chef’s Table reopening

You will be spoilt for choice at Private Chef’s Table by Dine Inn which has swiftly opened their private dining bookings since 21 June. Diners can pick from a list of 10 home chefs who specialise in different cuisines, from Nanyang, British, Italian to vegan Indian, before picking the menu of their choice.

Founder of six restaurants, bars and hawker stalls, Chef Luke Lee refreshes traditional local recipes to offer innovative dishes in his six-course or nine-course meal, like the Sanchoku Wagyu Beef (+MS6) grilled with Yukishio & Kampot black pepper and Oven-grilled Tiger King Prawns basted with Sea Salt Butter and Mentaiko.

If you prefer a taste of Mod-Sin and contemporary Asian fusion cuisine with a French twist, Chef Berlinda, a Masterchef SG participant, will wow you with her six-course or seven-course meal – including the Smoked Butter Chicken with Fondant Potato & Asparagus. Look forward to ending off your meal with a fragrant Mirror Glazed Ondeh Ondeh Chiffon Cake with Coconut Meringue.

And for those who are not ready to head out yet…

Suguru Home Dining

With a bevy of gourmet dishes using fresh seafood from Toyosu Market in Tokyo, it’s not surprising that Suguru Home Dining has amassed a strong following on social media. The business was born last year during Circuit Breaker, when Desmond Heng’s HR company was hit by the pandemic. Since then, he got his employees, Jesslyne Lee and Lim Han Song aboard to start the private home chef experience, and the trio has not looked back.

While Suguru Home Dining has yet to announce their reopening for private dining sessions, you can still get a taste of their offerings via delivery. Their signature Chilled Truffle Somen is a must-try. The Ibo no Ito Somen is made with water from Japan’s River Ipo and served with raw Hokkaido scallops. Opt for different toppings, such as Hokkaido bafun uni, Murasaki sea urchin, Snow Crab and Chum Salmon Ikura. You can also order a side of Hinata Onsen Egg complemented with the Ikura or Snow Crab.
